This is a 35mm transparency / slide.
It shows a Hawker Hunter jet fighter in camouflage parked on wet concrete hardstanding at Greenham Common, Berkshire, as written on the mount. A coloured emblem is painted on the tail fin, and a circular marking appears on the forward fuselage near the cockpit. The nose of a second Hunter shows at the right, with a number on its tail fin that is too small to read. Trees line the edge of the airfield under an overcast sky. The mount is handwritten in blue ink 'Hunter XG196 25' at the top and 'Greenham Common 31-7-76' at the bottom. The second character of the serial is written much like a 6, but it reads as XG196. The mount is also embossed 'AUG76' and printed 'Made in England' and 'View from this side'.
