Antique & Vintage Photographs

This is a 35mm transparency / slide.

It shows a Westland Sea King helicopter with the serial 062 on the tail boom, parked on the tarmac at Greenham Common, Berkshire. The helicopter is in a white and orange search and rescue scheme, with a Norwegian roundel on the rear fuselage and 'Redningstjeneste' (Norwegian for 'Rescue Service') lettered along the side. Another helicopter in grey is partly visible on the left, and metal crowd barriers stand on the concrete in front under an overcast sky. The mount is handwritten in blue ink 'Sea King 062 Norway A/F' above the picture and 'Greenham Common 26-6-81' below it. The mount also has red printing, reversed on this side, reading 'View from this side' and 'Made in England', with a processing date of 'Jul 81' and the number '22'.
