From a series of cards showing ‘earlier’ views of Southbourne. The card looks to date from between 1910 and 1920.
This one shows a 1898 view of the beach with the pier, Note the gap at the beginning of the pier due to earlier storm damage. It was only accessible via a small bridge at this time.
