This attractive, 2-Cent, U.S. PSC(w/ some stains, and wear and tear in the form of creases and tape remnants; doesn't lie totally flat)  was sent on 8/30/1893, from Washington D.C.(a great duplex!), to the Bristol Naturalist Society, Bristol England, via NYC(a superb, machine transit cancel: 8/31/1893!)! The sender was the Secretary S. P. Langley of the Smithsonian Institute! Samuel Pierpont Langley was not just the secretary of the Smithsonian, but an astronomer and physicist focused on astrophysics and pioneering uncrewed heavier-than-air aviation! He was a contemporary competitor of the Wright Brothers! Noted imperfections aside, this postal stationery card remains a neat piece of postal history connected to Washington D.C., Bristol, England, the Smithsonian Institute, Bristol Naturalists Society, and Samuel Pierpont Langley!
