Original Official Inaugural Program for the January 20, 1965 inauguration of President Lyndon B. Johnson and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey. This was LBJ's only elected term, following his landslide victory over Barry Goldwater in 1964, and the program was sold to the public at the ceremonies for one dollar.

The white textured cover is stamped in gold with the inaugural emblem (the Capitol dome, eagle and shield, with "Johnson" and "Humphrey" on the banner, encircled by "Inauguration of President and Vice President"), with "OFFICIAL INAUGURAL PROGRAM / JANUARY 20, 1965" and "PRICE ONE DOLLAR" below. The back cover carries the gold Seal of the President of the United States.

Contents include:

- Full-page color portrait of President Johnson (George F. Mobley, National Geographic Society) facing the Presidential Oath of Office

- Full-page color portrait of Vice President Humphrey (Fred Ward) facing the Vice President's Oath as prescribed by the Rules of the Senate

- "The Inaugural Medal" page illustrating both sides of the official medal designed by noted sculptor Felix W. deWeldon, with the original 1965 offer (bronze $5, silver $35)

- Gold-tone pages listing the 1965 Inaugural Committees and Acknowledgments (editor-in-chief Don R. Petit, designer Ed Gordon, printed by Rose Printing Company, Tallahassee, with New York, Washington and Austin printers)

A handsome, displayable piece of 1960s presidential history for LBJ collectors, political memorabilia and inaugural ephemera collectors, or Texas history enthusiasts.
