THE HISTORY OF EK-11001
The Air Armenia Cargo aircraft represented by this registration was an Antonov An-12BK with construction number 8346107, built in December 1968.
By December 2003, it was documented operating for Air Armenia Cargo under Armenian registration EK-11001. During its service with the airline, the aircraft was photographed at international cargo destinations including Frankfurt-Hahn, Zürich and Luxembourg.
Its appearance changed during its Air Armenia career. Early photographs show a predominantly white aircraft with airline titles; later records document a red, white and blue colour scheme.
In December 2014, the aircraft left the Armenian register for Tajikistan. It subsequently appeared as EY-411 with Asia Airways and later as EW-518TI with Grodno Aircompany.
This model represents the Air Armenia chapter of its long international cargo career.
THE ANTONOV AN-12
The An-12 became one of Antonov?s most recognisable transport aircraft. Its four turboprop engines, substantial cargo compartment and rear loading arrangement made it a versatile aircraft for transporting freight, equipment and supplies.
Beyond its military origins, the type developed a long civilian career with cargo airlines around the world. Aircraft such as EK-11001 illustrate how the An-12 continued serving international freight markets across several decades.
DISPLAY & PROTECTIVE PACKAGING
The model includes a plastic display stand, providing an additional presentation option alongside its extended landing gear.
It is supplied in a box with a transparent moulded plastic blister. The blister supports the model, limits movement inside the packaging and helps protect it during storage and transportation.
