Plugged in and powers on, display lights up clearly. Controls include Time, Hour, Minute, Alarm, Sleep and a large Snooze bar on top. The side has the alarm switch (On, Off, Auto), and the other side has the tuning wheel, AM/FM switch and volume wheel. Wire aerial attached. Runs on mains power with a 9V battery backup compartment underneath (battery not included).
