The track top is adidas’ oldest silhouette, born on the running tracks of the late 1960s and adopted by football terraces a decade later. Brain Dead, the LA collective founded by Kyle Ng and Ed Davis, has spent years pulling that heritage apart and stitching it back together with a collage artist’s eye. Here the third collaborator is Disney, and the result is a piece that reads like a fan’s scrapbook pressed into a track jacket.
The body is a soft poly-cotton jersey in a warm off-white, cut with a stand collar, full-length zip and the classic raglan sleeve. The print is the story: a scattered cast of Disney characters rendered in Brain Dead’s hand-drawn, slightly off-register style, framed by contrast ribbing at the cuffs and hem and the three stripes running down the sleeves. It wears relaxed over a tee and layers cleanly under a coat — a loud piece that somehow behaves like a quiet one.
