Hello.
We only sell genuine Pentair Autotrol and fleck parts and products.
Key Specifications
* Part Number: 1030355 (often cross-referenced as AT1030355)
* Flow Rate: 5.0 gpm
* Manufacturer: Pentair (Autotrol)
* Compatible Valve Models: Commonly used on Autotrol 255, 263, and 268 control valves.
The part number 1030355 corresponds to the Autotrol External Drain Line Flow Control (DLFC) rated at 5 Gallons Per Minute (gpm). Manufactured by Pentair Water Filtration under the valve division, this part regulates the backwash flow rate during the water softener or filter regeneration cycle.

Why This Component Matters
The DLFC ensures that water flows out of the drain line fast enough to properly backwash and expand the resin bed to clear out accumulated debris, but not so fast that it flushes the expensive resin media down the drain. A 5.0 gpm flow control is typically sized based on the diameter of your water system's resin tank and the specific media type inside it.

To do it yourself, installing or replacing the Autotrol (1030355) 5 GPM External Drain Line Flow Control (DLFC) assembly on your water softener or filter valve is a straightforward project. This part is commonly used on Autotrol Performa 255, 263, and 268 control valves.
Follow this step-by-step DIY guide to complete the installation safely:
Tools & Materials Needed
* Replacement DLFC assembly (Part #1030355)
* Plumber's tape (Teflon tape) or 100% silicone lubricant
* Adjustable wrench or channel locks
* A bucket or towel (to catch escaping water)
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
1. Put the Valve in Bypass Mode
Turn the knobs or handles on your bypass valve to the "Bypass" position. This stops water from entering the water softener, preventing a localized flood when you disconnect the drain.
2. Relieve Internal System Pressure
Manually advance your Autotrol controller to start a regeneration cycle (specifically the Backwashstage). Because the system is bypassed, it will safely decompress and depressurize the valve body.
3. Locate and Disconnect the Old DLFC
Find the drain line fitting at the back or base of your control valve. Place your bucket or towel beneath the connection. Carefully unscrew the existing drain line pipe/hose from the DLFC housing, then unscrew the old DLFC module from the valve fitting.
4. Prep the New DLFC Fitting
Inspect the new Autotrol 1030355 housing. Ensure its internal rubber flow washer (the 5 GPM button) is flat and seated correctly inside. Wrap the male threads of the valve connection or the module with a couple of layers of Teflon tape to ensure a watertight seal.
5. Thread on the New Part
Hand-tighten the new DLFC assembly into the drain port of your Autotrol valve, turning clockwise. Use your wrench or channel locks to tighten it an additional 1/2 to 1 turn. Do not over-tighten, as the plastic housing can crack.
6. Reconnect the Drain Line
Securely re-attach your external 1/2" or 3/4" flexible drain line hose or rigid pipe back onto the newly installed DLFC housing outlet.
7. Test for Leaks
Slowly turn your bypass valve back into the "Service" position to restore water pressure. Keep the softener in its manual backwash cycle for 1–2 minutes to allow water to stream out through the drain. Check all of your connections closely for any weeping or dripping water.
8. Once you confirm there are no leaks, you can let the control valve finish its cycle or advance it back to the "Home/Service" display.
