Antique & Vintage Photographs

This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 7 x 4¾ inches (180x120mm).

It shows a person viewed from behind, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, carrying two metal buckets suspended from a wooden yoke across their shoulders. The bucket on the left contains leafy green vegetables. The setting is a narrow street or alleyway with brick buildings and tiled roofs. A bicycle is parked against the wall on the right side of the frame. In the background, other individuals are visible, including someone standing on a structure adjusting an awning. The image was taken by an amateur tourist in China in 1987.
