The bowl has a simple flared bucket form, with clean proportions and a light, elegant profile. This understated shape allows the stem to become the main decorative feature, as was often intended with good opaque twist glasses. The clear bowl, pale metal and delicate rim give the glass a refined Georgian appearance.

The stem is the key feature. It contains a double series opaque twist, with fine white spiral threads running through the glass in a beautifully controlled pattern. These opaque twist stems were made by trapping white enamel-like threads within the molten glass and drawing them into a spiralling form, creating movement, depth and optical interest. The effect is decorative without being heavy, and remains one of the most sought-after features in 18th-century English wine glasses.

The glass stands on a plain conical foot with a snapped pontil mark underneath, consistent with hand-blown Georgian manufacture. The foot has a soft, honest wear pattern from age and use, helping confirm its period character. The overall balance of bowl, stem and foot is very attractive, with the glass sitting well and displaying beautifully.
