Antique c1920 4x Silver Plated Topped Cut Crystal Glass Perfume Scent Bottles with Heart Shaped Stoppers in Original Leather Case
This elegant and complete early 20th-century travel vanity set dates to around 1920 and comprises four finely made scent bottles presented in their original fitted burgundy coloured leather case. Such sets were intended for private travel or dressing-table use and reflect the continued Edwardian and early Art Deco preference for refinement, portability, and personal luxury.
Each bottle is crafted from clear cut crystal glass with an oval base and gently fluted sides, designed to catch and refract light with subtle brilliance. All four bottles retain their original frosted glass heart-shaped stoppers, a charming and romantic detail that speaks to the period’s taste for sentimentally inspired forms. Unusually, the set is complete with all four original silver-plated screw caps, which fit securely over the glass stoppers to protect against evaporation or leakage during travel. The silver plating remains bright and reflective, complements the clarity of the crystal beautifully.
The bottles appear unused and exceptionally well preserved, with no chips, cracks, or staining, making this a particularly desirable and increasingly scarce complete set.
The fitted travel case is constructed from deep burgundy leather with a fine line impressed grain, retaining its original structured form. The scalloped front flap is secured with a brass snap fastener, while the interior is lined in vibrant crimson leather, remarkably fresh in appearance. Four individual compartments hold each bottle upright and securely, demonstrating thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship. The case shows only very minor signs of handling, consistent with careful ownership.
This is a refined and highly decorative vanity set, equally suited to a perfume bottle collection, an antique dressing table display, or as a tangible example of early 20th-century travel luxury. Complete sets with all stoppers, caps, and original case are now difficult to find in this condition.
