I was SURE these were gorgeous hand-carved wood when I bought them.  But...upon closer inspection I think the maker did a fabulous job - but I think they're fakes!  They look like walnut carved wood.  They feel lighter than modern resin-items, soI'm not sure what they're made of. I googled around & can't find any identical - so you're the experts.

About 7" long and  about 6 3/4" across - bookmatched!  Not as boring as two with their tails swinging the same direction...
