Alot of office chairs with wheels come with plastic bases which sometimes crack especially at the point where the wheels pop in. This is the most cost effective way to repair your old office chair by replacing the plastic base with a metal base and re-using your existing wheels.

There is a centre part with 5 protruding tubes. Simply attach one leg on to each by inserting (may need to use some force here as the fit is quite tight in order to give better rigidity) possibly use a rubber mallet. Then use the screws provided to fix in place.

When you remove your old base off your office chair you may need to use a rubber mallet to tap the gas cylinder part away from the base. Then simply insert the gas cylinder attached to your chair in to the new metal base.
