This guitar was bought new in October 1987 and shows almost no signs of use, although it is not unused and has some minor scratches and slight dullness on the metal parts. The sound has not been checked through an amplifier, so it is sold as untested. The frets show no wear and the truss rod cover still has its protective sticker. Included are the original warranty card with the purchase date stamp, an unmailed registration card, the original price tag, a leather strap, a cable and unopened strings, plus a soft gig bag. Description

This is a Fernandes TEJ-45 Limited Edition electric guitar in black with body binding, made in Japan. It has two single-coil pickups, a rosewood fingerboard and the gold Fernandes logo on the headstock with a silver "LIMITED EDITION" mark. The serial number begins with an L, which points to the Japanese-made production of that period. The body has no dents on the front or back and the finish is still glossy. The protective sticker is still on the truss rod cover. Included with the guitar are the original warranty card with a purchase stamp from 1987, an unmailed registration card, the original price tag, a leather strap, a cable and unopened strings. A Hotei-model pick and period stickers are also included as extras.

History & Rarity

The TEJ series was Fernandes' TL-type line in the 1980s, and the TEJ-45 was sold at a list price of 45,000 yen at the time. Examples that still come with their original paperwork, price tag and accessories are not often seen.
