Ningyo-Joruri
Bunraku is one of Japan’s traditional performance arts. It was
created in Osaka during the Edo period (1603–1868). It was handed down into the 1900s. The performance has three parts: voice of the tayu (narrator), sound of
the shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese musical instrument), and of course the movements
of the puppets. All three parts are the presentation and story. Ningyo-Joruri Bunraku is as popular as theatre by human beings.
Fuji Musume (Wisteria Maiden) is a Japanese dance and Kabuki play. It depicts a beautiful maiden who has stepped out of a painting, carrying a wisteria branch, dancing beneath the blooming wisteria flowers, longing for a man, with a wisteria twig in her hand. Very enchanting dance.
