Full Description:

Up for auction is a beautifully preserved, structurally complete tribal storage pouch (Torba / Mafrash panel). Unlike many antique and vintage tribal bags that have been cut apart over the years to be sold as flat rugs or pillow faces, this piece remains entirely intact as an authentic, fully enclosed three-dimensional pouch.

Artistry & Construction:

• Front Panel: Features an intricate, tightly woven Soumak (weft-wrapped) geometric tribal pattern dominated by rich mustard yellows, deep earthy browns, and dark indigo blue highlights.

• Reverse Panel: Woven in a durable, classic horizontal-banded Kilim flatweave using natural wool tones intermixed with vibrant mid-century accent stripes.

• Finishing Details: The sides feature elaborate, hand-braided open-work wool lattices that terminate into thick, original decorative tassels along the bottom. The original hand-stitching connecting the front and back faces is fully intact.
