J.W. York & Sons Cornet, made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Serial number suggests manufacture in the early 1910s. Silver-plated finish with wear on high-contact areas and along the leadpipe crook. Features a shepherd's crook bell, with a Union Label stamp on the second valve casing. Includes a York & Sons Boston Model mouthpiece and lyre.
Will need to be serviced prior to playing: Third valve slide is stuck. Two of the four slides move, and all three pistons move up and down. Significant wear to the valve piston plating. Evidence of brass deterioration, including chipped or damaged tubing ends on two tuning slides. Additional cleaning, inspection, and adjustments recommended.
Instrument has not been fully evaluated for playing condition. Additional service or repairs may be necessary beyond those specifically described.
Includes what appears to be the original hard case, which has held up well for its age. See pictures for plating wear and other condition details.
Serial #: 335xx.
Ebays Description of For Parts or Not Working:
An item that does not function as intended and is not
fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render
them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing
essential components. See the sellers listing for full details. Missing essential components applies to the mouthpiece, so if a mouthpiece is not included it automatically falls under the "for parts or not working" category (even if the instrument would otherwise play fine).
Shipping Price:
Shipping rate is determined by Ebay. I submit the weight and dimensions of the box
and they calculate the cost based on where it is being delivered. Majority of the time, the price calculation
is correct for the instrument. Rarely,(I
mean VERY rare), Ebay might charge more than the actual shipping cost, if that
occurs I do refund the difference. For
the most part, plan on the shipping charges quoted as being accurate. Insurance will be included in the shipping price for instruments.
International Shipping & Shipping to Other Countries:
This instrument is included in the eBay International Shipping program, meaning that if your country is one of the supported countries, then we can ship to you through eBay. Eligible countries can be found on eBay?s website:
