Chick – Someone’s Ugly Daughter – CD Album – 550 Music / Epic BK 67343 (1995) Cult '90s Alt-Rock Album Produced by Mariah Carey (Uncredited) Released in 1995 on 550 Music / Epic, Someone’s Ugly Daughter is the only studio album from the short-lived alternative rock band Chick, fronted by Clarissa Dane and secretly produced by Mariah Carey under a pseudonym. Originally overlooked, the album has since become a cult collectible due to its grunge-pop leanings, rebellious tone, and the mystique surrounding its true origins. The sound blends mid-'90s alternative rock with biting sarcasm, disillusionment, and self-deprecating humor -- a stark contrast to Carey’s mainstream output at the time. 💿 Release Info: Title: Someone’s Ugly Daughter Artist: Chick Label: 550 Music – BK 67343, Epic – BK 67343 Format: CD, Album Released: 1995 Country: US Genre: Rock Style: Alternative Rock 🎵 Tracklist: Joe Love Is A Scam Violent Malibu Demented Freak Agony Surrender (Cheap Trick cover) Hermit Prom Queen Stork: Orphan In My Room 📘 Credits & Notes: Vocals: Clarissa Dane Uncredited Producer & Background Vocals: Mariah Carey Recording/Mixing: The Hit Factory Mastering: Gateway Mastering Engineers: Andy Smith, Glen Marchese, Kurt Lundvall Published by: Chick Cuts, Chick Slices, Sony Tunes Inc., Sony Songs Inc., Screen Gems-EMI 📦 Collector's Note: Now considered a rare and collectible CD, Someone’s Ugly Daughter garnered renewed attention after Mariah Carey confirmed her involvement. The original pressing is highly sought-after by Mariah completists, '90s rock aficionados, and fans of obscure female-fronted alternative bands. 💥 A hidden gem with deep industry lore -- raw, loud, and unapologetically weird.
