A stunning pair of extremely rare 18th-century/ early 19th century foil back garnet earrings. The gold around the garnets is XRF tested as 22 ct and the hook is tested at 18 ct. The earrings measure 3 cm long top of hook to bottom beading, have recently had a polish, and are in excellent condition showing little use; there are a few light dings on the back domes. Each earring has slightly different colour garnets, one pair is slightly darker than the other. I am not sure if this is how they were originally made 200+ years ago or if one pair had the garnets replaced. The earrings are not hallmarked due to their age and they weigh 2.66 g. Please check all photos carefully for the second hand condition of this piece of jewellery. I am happy to answer any questions.
There is a pendant and ring which is part of this matching set, both of which are being sold separately.
