With the name Limit on the dial and probably made in the 1940s, this is a ladies' silver and gold coloured Swiss made mechanical wristwatch. 

It comes on an expandable silver tone metal strap that was made by Montal and has their name on its underside. The underside is also marked 'stainless steel.'

The strap connects to the watch head at its 6 and 12 o'clock positions with "A" shaped watch lugs.

The watch head is round in shape and is made in three sections. It has a lightly brushed silver tone stainless steel push-down case back, a polished silver coloured middle, bezel and crown.

It has a pale champagne coloured dial with gold tone Arabic numeral hour markers at all the even numbered hours and roundel markers for the rest. It also has polished gold coloured hour and minute hands.

The watch is powered by a Swiss 15 Jewels mechanical movement that is running well. The movement is probably made by Fabrique d'Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF) but I have not been able to identify it. 

The watch was made by Limit International. This company can trace their origins back to 1884 when 'Hirst Brothers' was founded by Alfred Hirst in Union Street in Oldham. In 1963 Limit was acquired by Time Products (UK) Ltd and in 2012 they launched a Centenary Collection to celebrate its 100 year milestone as a watch brand.

Case height is approximately 29.25mm lug to lug.

Case width with crown is approximately 21.25mm.

Case thickness is approximately 7.9mm.

The strap measures approximately 7mm at its widest and would fit a wrist of up to 14cm in circumference unexpanded and 17cm expanded.

The item weighs 17.8g.

The watch is in working condition and keeping good time. On a full wind it ran for over 40 hours and lost 6 minutes in that time.

When the crown is pulled out the time can be changed.

The hour and minute hands are aligned correctly.

The glass crystal is scuffed and scratched.

The dial is pitted and discoloured.

The case has many scuffs and scratches on it.

The watch strap is worn but still perfectly serviceable.
