A travel watch with a completely different way of showing where you are.
The MAKINA Azazel_I GMT takes one of watchmaking’s most useful complications and expresses it through the distinctive industrial design language of MAKINA.
Rather than relying on a conventional fourth GMT hand, the Azazel_I uses a rotating central GMT disc. A circular aperture travels around the underlying 24-hour scale, indicating a second time zone while changing between orange for daylight and white for night.
The result is clever, visually engaging and unmistakably MAKINA.
Its sculptural 40mm stainless-steel case is given a coarse sandblasted finish that emphasises the architectural character of the design, while the layered dial, domed sapphire crystal and strong geometric forms create a watch with enormous personality without relying on excessive dimensions.

The Azazel_I is immediately recognisable.
Its 40mm 316L stainless-steel case combines strong, sculptural geometry with a deliberately rough sandblasted surface, giving the watch an almost machined-from-solid appearance.
The dial follows the same philosophy. Multiple layers, texture and contrasting elements create depth, while the central GMT mechanism becomes part of the visual architecture rather than simply another complication added to the dial.
At just 40mm across and approximately 46mm lug-to-lug, the Azazel_I delivers substantial wrist presence while remaining well proportioned for everyday wear.
At the heart of the Azazel_I GMT is the Miyota 9075 automatic movement.
Unlike many conventional GMT movements, the 9075 is a genuine traveller’s or flyer GMT, allowing the local hour hand to be adjusted independently when crossing time zones.
This means the wearer can change local time without disturbing the reference time displayed by the GMT mechanism.

Because the Azazel_I GMT does something increasingly rare: it makes a familiar complication feel genuinely different.
The rotating GMT disc, day/night indication and strongly architectural dial give the watch its own identity, while the Miyota 9075 provides a genuinely useful traveller’s GMT function beneath the design.
Then there is the case itself — compact enough for everyday wear, but textured and sculptural enough to make the watch immediately recognisable.
This is not a GMT designed to disappear quietly into a collection.
It is for someone who travels, appreciates strong design and wants something on the wrist that feels individual rather than familiar.
Useful complication. Distinctive engineering. Unmistakably MAKINA.
