This item is shelved inventory left over from Thom's Train Station.

Thom's Trains was an authorized dealer of new production Marx Trains.

This version is the standard black frames.

Short Story:  As an authorized dealer of new production Marx Trains, I ordered the Louis Marx 100th Birthday sets.  Authorized dealer requirement was to order a minimum of 3 of each item.  So my order was for 3 complete Louis Marx 100th Birthday sets.   They were out of burgundy engines.  So instead, Debby Flynn offered to make the engines/tenders and sets in black frames.  I agreed.  To the best of my knowledge, only 3 complete sets were ever made.  This color variation is not a cataloged or in promotions.  I know who I sold other two sets to.  This is the 3rd of its kind.   This collection has been displayed at shows and in my home so cannot list it as being "New".   All original boxes and packaging straight from Marx Trains.  I know who bought the other two sets....lol.

What you get. (black engine/tender and all black frame cars).
