• Manufacturer: Shanklin Manufacturing Company (Springfield, Illinois). The lamp was originally invented by a coal miner named Frank Guy. Cir. 1913 – 1932. The patent dates on the lid range from 1912 to 1923, and the bottom clearly bears the Shanklin stamp. In 1932, the company sold the rights to the Universal Lamp Company, which modified the design. It's mostly brass and has a few small dents. No major damage Anywhere. I'm also adding to this auction a Sticking Tommy, cir. 1860s to 1915.
