A substantial vintage clear crystal bowl / ashtray produced by the renowned Swedish glassworks Orrefors, designed by Edvin Öhrström.
The piece has a beautifully simple Scandinavian Modern form with a thick rounded rim, shallow central well and heavily polished clear crystal construction.
The underside carries the hand-etched Orrefors FA 2886 signature. The “F” designation is associated with designs by Edvin Öhrström, one of the important designers working at Orrefors during the mid-20th century.
Originally intended as an ashtray or small decorative bowl, it could now also be displayed as a Scandinavian art glass object or used as a trinket dish.
