This wonderfully ornate clock has a cream glazed porcelain body embellished with sweeping C-scrolls, pierced detailing, delicate pastel pink and yellow highlights, and an abundance of individually modelled flowers and green foliage.

Two delightful cherubs decorate the lower section, positioned amongst the scrolling porcelain framework, giving the clock a distinctly romantic and theatrical appearance.

The circular clock face is equally attractive, featuring an elaborate antique-style gilt dial with Arabic numerals, decorative hands and a floral centre, surrounded by a polished gold-tone bezel.

The reverse houses a German-made Gebrüder Hauser Mercedes quartz movement, designed for battery operation.

Although the porcelain case is unmarked, its elaborate floral modelling and decorative styling are characteristic of the Dresden-inspired porcelain clocks popular during the 20th century.

Vintage condition with age-related wear, minor surface marks and some discolouration consistent with age and previous use. Delicate applied floral decoration and cherub figures appear well presented in the photographs. Due to the intricate nature of the porcelain decoration, buyers are advised to examine all photographs carefully.

German Mercedes quartz movement is present, has a new battery fitted and is working.
