Description

66 Mint / Unused US Postage Stamps 1920’s – 1940s  7 Photos

  • Note: I am NOT a philatelist. My uncle was, so I know the term.  I’m describing these stamps as well as I can. I don’t have a Scott’s guide to help me know exactly which version of a particular stamp is here. Do not ask for specifics, I am unqualified to provide that information beyond what I’m describing and what you see.
  • From a collection of stamps picked up at an estate sale years ago. Interestingly, I was able to find information about the collector, who lived in Denver, where the collection was purchased, but who moved before I found it. I suspect he sold it when he moved out of state and the buyer never did anything with it. The collector was born in 1917.
  • 11 of these stamps, all in one photo, are individually sealed in cellophane. The rest show no indication of hinges or postmarks. There is a massive number of stamps in this collection which show postmarks or hinges. They are being offered separately.
  • I did use google to identify many of the stamps to get an idea of the date range. I can see slight color variations, and I suspect that may affect value.
  • This lot was kept in a small box so none got crushed or creased. I’ll send them in a small box.

Refund Policy: Items that are not as described will result in a refund of the bid amount upon return of the item in the condition in which it was shipped.  This does not apply to finding a small scratch when the description says minor surface wear or similar issues.  If a package is damaged in transit, and if it was insured, the buyer must cooperate in filing the insurance claim (not a big deal).  The box and packing material must be kept and available for the post office if an item is insured and damaged in transit.  If an issue is not addressed in the description (I attempt to provide comprehensive descriptions) or if the bidder doesn’t understand the description and he or she did not ask a question about it, no refund will be made. Note: if the Post Office damages an item and still delivers it, it will refund only the bid amount and not the postage.  I will not make up the difference.

Please ask questions before bidding.
