A hand-painted blue and white porcelain saucer from Japan with a phoenix motif at the center. The cobalt brushwork has that quiet, unhurried quality of older Japanese export ware, all sweeping wings and cloud scrollwork against a clean white ground.

Marked Made in Japan on the back. Pre-owned with no visible wear, no chips or cracks.
