Description
MINT Vintage Capodimonte Porcelain Figural Group by TIZIANO GALLI - "OPPAOLA CASTIGATA"
Rare and highly animated figural group by master Italian sculptor Tiziano Galli.
Depicts an older girl in yellow polka-dot dress sitting on a bench, arm raised, giving a spanking to a younger girl draped over her lap. The younger child’s red bloomers are pulled down revealing blue underwear, legs kicking. A crumpled paper lies on the textured grassy base. Wonderful facial expressions and movement — classic Galli “naughty children” humor at its finest.
Hand-painted in soft Capodimonte matte finish with great detail to the bench, dress dots, and hair curls.
Marks:
Front base: OPPAOLA. CASTIGATA SCULTORE TIZIANO GALLI
Rear base: Blue Crowned N + MADE ITALY DEPOSEE
Authentic vintage Tiziano Galli studio piece, circa 1960s, Made in Italy.
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs noted. All fingers, toes, and bench corners appear intact — the fragile points on this model.
This is an adult collectible. The “spanking” theme is artistic humor typical of 1960s Italian porcelain.
