Vintage Burmese Style Lacquerware Nesting Lidded Bowls Boxes Pair
Good overall preloved condition. Attractive glossy finish with detailed coloured decoration remaining clear and vibrant. There is some wear/loss to the coating around the join/rim of the larger container, together with minor signs of age and use.
Decorative pair of round nesting lacquerware lidded bowls/boxes, finished predominantly in glossy black with finely detailed red, green and yellow decoration. Each container has a removable domed lid, creating two complete lidded pieces, and the smaller box fits neatly inside the larger for storage. The decoration includes detailed figural scenes surrounded by scrolling foliate motifs, giving the pair an attractive Southeast Asian appearance. Ideal for use as trinket boxes, decorative storage or as part of a lacquerware collection. Larger measures approximately 10cm diameter x 7cm high; smaller approximately 8.5cm diameter x 5.5cm high.
