This a new old stock expansion valve for the air conditioning on Jaguar XJ models, Jaguar part number RTC 693 (supersedes to RTC693).

This is a genuine period product, manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer Egelhof, which can be seen by the manufacturer's name moulded into the product and the "Made in West Germany" which also appears. It is therefore not to be confused with tehe cheap Chinese modern reproduction items you will find elsewhere. Nothin can beat original equipment made by a long established German manufacturer.

This item is unboxed, but it is clearly new and unused.

This is the version with the conical fitments (see photos). The sizes of the fittings are (i) 5/8" UNF and (ii) 3/4" UNF, and the nut is for a 7/16" UNF fitting and has an 11/16" AF nut.

Please check that it is the type you need for your vehicle.

It probably fits other classic cars of the same era (late 1960s and early 1970s)
