A charming vintage Giuseppe Armani Florence figurine depicting a young girl embracing her beloved dog in a delightful moment of affection and friendship.
Beautifully modelled with Armani's characteristic warmth and attention to detail, the little girl is portrayed wearing a delicate floral-patterned outfit with a flower adorning her hair, whilst her faithful canine companion leans happily into the embrace. The composition perfectly captures the innocent bond between child and pet that has made Giuseppe Armani's work so enduringly popular with collectors.
This lovely sculpture stands approximately 21 cm tall and is displayed upon its original polished wooden plinth featuring the G. Armani name plaque.
The base bears the artist's signature together with the Florence 1984 mark, confirming its production during the early years of Armani's celebrated Florence period.
A heartwarming piece that would make a wonderful addition to any Giuseppe Armani collection or a thoughtful gift for dog lovers alike.
Giuseppe Armani (1935–2006) was one of Italy's most respected figurative sculptors. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Armani became internationally renowned for his ability to infuse his creations with emotion, movement and extraordinary realism.
Produced under the Florence Sculture d'Arte name, Armani figurines gained worldwide recognition during the 1970s and 1980s. Unlike mass-produced decorative pieces, each design began as an original sculpture personally created by Armani before being carefully reproduced and hand finished by skilled artisans.
His works often celebrate themes of family, childhood, animals and everyday beauty, making them treasured by collectors across the globe.
Giuseppe Armani was so highly regarded that many collectors refer to him simply by surname alone. Much like Lladró or Capodimonte, the name "Armani" has become synonymous with elegant Italian figurative sculpture and exceptional craftsmanship.
This figurine is offered in good vintage condition.
There is slight wear and mild age-related discolouration consistent with previous display and long-term storage. Overall, the piece remains highly presentable and displays beautifully. Item could do well with an extra gentle clean as it has been stored for some years.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
