W.R. Wheeler Printer, Stationer & Fancy Goods Dealer, High Street, Newnham, c1930s Ribbon. 40"
This is an interesting item that I think dates from around the 1930s. It is a 40" length of Ribbon that I think was used for wrapping packages / items at a shop in Newnham on Severn in Gloucestershire. It measures wide and a single length is approx. 20" long. It is coloured purple with yellow edges and the text is in black. It reads W.R. Wheeler Newnham, Printer, Stationer and Fancy Goods Dealer High St Newnham, Tel: 3 Books and Toys Argosy Circulating Library. It was hard to picture to make it look attractive, as it is so thin, but it is in lovely clean condition. This item is two lengths, so all of the text appears twice, and so it is 40" long.
