Charming vintage 1980s AmToy teddy bear, produced by AmToy Inc., a company associated with American Greetings during this period.
This classic approximately 10-inch teddy bear features thick multi-tonal brown plush fur, a contrasting white muzzle and paw pads, dark eyes, brown nose, stitched mouth, and an original red ribbon bow at the neck.
The sewn manufacturer's tag identifies:
AmToy / AmToy Inc. New York, NY 10010 Made in Korea 100% Polyester Surface Washable Only
AmToy produced a variety of American Greetings dolls and plush toys during the early 1980s. A documented 1981 AmToy/American Greetings teddy bear in the Senator John Heinz History Center collection was likewise manufactured in Korea and bears the New York AmToy identification, supporting an early-1980s era for this bear.
A great piece for collectors of 1980s plush, American Greetings toys, vintage teddy bears, or nostalgic childhood collectibles.
