If you are here you already know what you're looking at, so there's no need for me to give you the big specifications description. 

I will however explain why I'm selling it, and for you watch idiot savants and grail chasers you'll probably understand.

So, here goes...

I am besotted by LUC in general and I've owned (and still do own a few) at least half a dozen modern pieces in the last 10 years.

I fell in love with this watch when it was released in 2023. 

And I fell in love with it more than any other watch I've seen or known about in my 35 plus years watch journey. 

Everything about this salmon / really more copper dial 1860 was and still is everything I've ever wanted in a watch. 

But I didn't get one because at that time you had to order it from the Chopard boutique and it took 5 months to be made and delivered.

The trouble with that was because this watch was basically order only, they never had one on display.

I felt iffy dropping that kind of money on something I'd never seen in person or had on my wrist. 

So I languished away for 3 years until one day early in 2026 I got called into my local boutique because they had one. 

I went in, put it on, and walked out with it, stunned. 

Arguably the greatest modern calibre of the last 50 years, built from the ground up by Michel Parmigiani over 3 years.

Finished beyond perfection. 

Solid gold, hand guilloche' dial in the most gorgeous copper tone, crafted by Metalem (now owned by Chopard) on the same rose lathes that made the dials for Phillipe Dufour's Simplicity. 

Constructed in seriously low numbers - I doubt LUC made more that 100 - by one of the most important and seriously-minded modern watch houses in the world, this 1860 feels and wears like it has been blessed by the Swiss watch gods. 

When holding it you can almost feel Parmigiani, Dufour, and Karl-Friedrich Sheufele stand closely behind you and nodding in approval.

 
This watch is as close to watch perfection as I think it's ever going to get. 

And that, in a nutshell, is why I'm selling it. 

I've attained my grail / my exit watch. 

This was something that for the last 3 plus decades I'd wondered if even existed. 

But now, I feel like I've reached the pinnacle of watch making perfection (at least for me) and I'm done. 

There's nothing left for me to chase or obtain. 

So I'm selling it, and my few other remaining pieces over the next few months and walk away from watches entirely.

Which maybe, from a watch collecting standpoint, is what we all ultimately want.

Chopard warranty until the end of the decade. 

This watch has to be sold as LNIB just by virtue of the fact that it's been taken home. 

But other than that it's indistinguishable from new. 

Discontinued earlier this year, the few out there for sale will be gone soon and held prisoner in private watch vaults for these rest of their owners natural lives. 

But I hope it goes to a good home. 

It deserves it.
