This is an ORIGINAL Red Cross civilian message form used to enquire about someone living on the occupied Channel Island of Guernsey during WWII.  The message is from an A. Ollivier and is enquiring about the whereabouts of a Mr. Frank Hockaday who lived in St. Sampson, Guernsey.  The reply on the reverse confirmed that he was still living at "New Road" and was well.  The process of getting information was a lengthy one - the original enquiry in this case was dated 3rd October 1941 and the eventual reply is dated 29th May 1942. The item is on thin paper.   A very interesting item for a WWII homefront collection.   The item measures 14.4cm x 22.7cm.  Please note this is NOT a replica.

The item is in a good condition overall.  There is some loss at the top edge, as well as creasing, a 2.7cm tear and several small tears.  The item has been folded in half horizontally but will be sent flat.  0.6cm split at left hand end of horizontal fold.  Small loss at bottom left hand corner.  Very small crease at bottom right hand corner.A few other tiny nicks to edges.  A hint of browning to item with the odd tiny mark.  Not perfect but a very interesting item.   Please check scans carefully as they help with condition too.

Note surface mail or first class inland mail options are always available, please ask for a quote.
