Zheng Li, 1884–1956) was a highly celebrated folk master carver from Tongliang. He came from a family that specialized in carving temple deities, architectural details, and wooden statues (such as Guanyin). During the colonial period, his work was so renowned that visiting dignitaries eagerly sought out his carvings.
