Authentic vintage M.I. Hummel “Singing Lesson” (HUM 63), sculpted by Arthur Moeller in 1937.

A little Bavarian boy in green hat and jacket sits on an oval base, pointing and “teaching” a bright yellow songbird perched on his shoe. Classic rosy-cheeked Hummel charm in the original high-gloss glaze.

The mark that matters:

Underside stamped U.S.-Zone Germany in oval + incised model number 63. This is the scarce 1946–1948 American occupation-zone mark — treated by collectors as a TMK-1 Crown equivalent. These early pieces were produced for only a short time before the factory switched to the Full Bee mark.

Approximately 3" tall. Hand-painted porcelain. No chips, cracks, or repairs visible. Normal light age consistent with a 75+ year-old figurine.

Most Singing Lessons on the market are later 1960s–80s versions. Early Zone-marked examples are far less common and the ones serious collectors actually search for.
