Authentic WWI Russian Imperial Army small infantry shovel. Recovered from dugout excavations in the "Machine GunHill " area (Latvia). This shovel is particularly interesting because it was manufactured in Finland at the Billnas factory for the Russian Imperial Army. At that time, Finland was part of the Russian Empire.The blade has been cleaned and fitted with a authentic, toned ash wood handle. The metal is strong and structurally sound. A perfect item to a private collection or for historical reenactment.
