It is one of the most prestigious and rare woods in Chinese history, also known luxurious types of timber in the world. Scientifically classified as [Phoebe zhennan], it is native to southwestern China. The wood name come from the shimmering, thread-like golden grains that resemble silk cloth emerges beneath light. Treasured for centuries by emperors and nobles, it was once reserved for imperial palaces, temples, and heirloom furnishing in China.
