This is an antique wooden donor figure (attendant statue), likely originating from the Korean Joseon Dynasty. It is a type of Buddhist statue (Butsuzo) traditionally used in temple settings.

The carving depicts a standing figure with hands clasped together in a praying gesture. The surface retains traces of traditional polychrome pigments, primarily in red, black, and green. In Buddhist art, a donor figure serves as a proxy for the devotee, perpetually offering prayers. During the Joseon period, such rustic, painted wooden attendant figures were prevalent in Buddhist temples, typically placed around the main altar.

The item is in antique condition with significant signs of age and historical use. There is substantial loss and wood degradation on the right side and back of the head, exposing the inner wood. The piece also exhibits extensive paint loss, natural vertical drying cracks, and general surface wear throughout the body.
