About This Item

The Vintage 2001 Vanmark "Red Hats Of Courage" Unseen Guardian resin figurine (Model #FM88637) is a highly detailed, hand-painted firefighter collectible that typically commands between $40 and $70 on the secondary market. However, because this specific piece is hand-numbered No. 1/1423, being the very first production model of this limited edition significantly enhances its rarity and overall value to dedicated collectors.

Value Factors for This Piece:

• The "No. 1" Premium: Standard editions of this 10.25" x 8.25" x 8.25" figurine are found periodically on resale platforms. A "Number 1" serialization is uniquely desirable and can often command a premium well above standard market pricing from collectors who value serial milestones.
• Condition is Key: To maximize this item's value, the intricate parts (such as the angel's wings and the firefighter's tools) must be entirely free of chips, cracks, or paint wear.
• Original Packaging: Having the original Vanmark box and any accompanying Certificate of Authenticity (COA) will further solidify its top-tier collector status.

📅 Year of Release

• 2001: This piece was introduced by Vanmark Fine Gifts in 2001 as part of their highly collectible "Red Hats Of Courage" series, which honors the bravery and sacrifices of firefighters. Note: Released Shortly After The Attacks On The World Trade Center and The Pentagon On 9/11/2001

📏 Specifications

• Model Number: #FM88637
• Dimensions: Approximately 10.25" Tall x 8.25" Long x 8.25" Wide.
• Material: Handcrafted and intricately hand-painted resin mounted onto a polished, square wooden base featuring felt feet on the bottom to protect surfaces.
• Design Details: Depicts a determined firefighter in full turnout gear working amidst smoke and flames on a rooftop, while a serene guardian angel watches over and protects him from behind.

💎 Rarity

• Extremely High (Due to Serialization): While the "Unseen Guardian" itself is a retired, limited-edition piece, this specific item is stamped No. 1/1423.
• The "Number 1" Distinction: In the world of limited-edition collectibles, the very first piece ever produced off the line is the pinnacle find. Finding the exact #1 of a specific production run drastically elevates its scarcity compared to any subsequent number in the sequence (e.g., #342 or #1,200).

💵 Pricing Breakdown

• Standard Market Value ($45 – $70): Regular production numbers of this specific model in good, used condition typically sell for around $42 to $50 on platforms like Mercari and up to $70 on eBay.
• This Piece's Estimated Value ($120 – $200+): Because it is No. 1, it can comfortably double or triple the standard baseline price for a specialized collector. A serious firefighting memorabilia enthusiast or a dedicated Vanmark collector will readily pay a premium for the #1 designation.
• Value Conditioners: To secure the top-end valuation, the piece must have zero chips (the delicate tips of the angel's wings are notorious for chipping), and having the original retail box along with its Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is crucial.

The presence of the small wing chip and the lack of the original box and Certificate of Authenticity (COA) will impact the premium value of this No. 1/1423 figurine. In the collectibles market, serious enthusiasts who pay top dollar for a "Number 1" serialization expect the item to be in mint condition with all its original packaging.

Below is how these factors adjust this figurine's market outlook:

This Particular Item Value Adjustment

• Adjusted Estimated Value ($60 – $95): Because it is still the coveted No. 1 piece, it retains a distinct advantage over standard models. However, the wing chip and lack of a box pull it down from its peak $120+ potential. It will likely sell for just above the price of a standard mint-condition piece ($45–$70).
• The Condition Impact: The tips of the angel's wings are the most critical areas collectors inspect on this specific model. Even a very small chip unfortunately removes the "mint condition" status that high-end serial number buyers look for.
• The Packaging Impact: For Vanmark pieces, the retail box and COA serve as the official proof of the limited-edition sequence. Without them, a buyer must rely entirely on the handwritten or stamped numbering on the bottom of the wooden base.

Because limited-edition collectibles manufactured by Vanmark Fine Gifts in the late 1990s and early 2000s primarily relied on specific limited edition hand-stamped model numbers (like this #FM88637), a standard Universal Product Code (UPC) barcode was rarely assigned to individual secondary market variants. Individual secondary retail platforms or catalog databases often dynamically assign temporary placeholder IDs for tracking, but the official retail piece itself lacks a universal 12-digit UPC code.
