Vintage 1930's bottle cap from Our Own Farms - H. Packer, Milk Bottle Cap. During this era, health regulations mandated that milk bottle caps display the pasteurization status and the specific day of the week the milk was processed or to be sold. Cardboard disc caps with this distinct red-and-black typography and wax coating were standard in home dairy delivery across the United States until plastic-coated cartons and jug caps largely replaced them by the 1960s. This cap is marked "Pasteurized during the 24 hour period ending 6 A.M. Monday".
