The Wallace Silver Swan Lake Carousel is extraordinarily hard to find, particularly complete, fully functioning, and in this condition.
Wind the mechanism and the piece comes to life. Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake begins to play as the mirrored lake slowly rotates, carrying four detailed silverplate swans around an ornate central fountain. Their reflections move beneath them, creating the beautiful illusion of swans gliding across water.
This example is exceptional. It winds smoothly, rotates beautifully, and plays clearly. The mirrored lake is remarkably clean and reflective. The silverplate has been gently cleaned while preserving its natural patina, leaving wonderful depth and definition throughout the feathers, roses, fountain, and intricate ornamentation.
Suspended pearl accents and a large pearl-like finial complete the design. Beautiful even at rest and mesmerizing in motion, it is an extraordinary decorative object and statement centerpiece for a collected interior, wedding or bridal setting, sweetheart table, or anywhere it deserves to be the focal point.
