Ashlee Simpson – I Am Me (SIGNED LP / 20th Anniversary / Custom Gold & Black Split Vinyl / Exclusive 2 Bonus Track Version / First Time Ever on Vinyl / Interscope Records) – NEW/SEALED – IN HAND

📝 Item Description

You are looking at the SIGNED LP of Ashlee Simpson's I Am Me — pressed on custom Gold and Black Split vinyl, containing an exclusive 2 bonus track version, and now in hand. Interscope's own description: "We are excited to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ashlee Simpson's sophomore album, I Am Me, releasing on vinyl for the first time ever. Originally released in 2005, the album debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 and marked the next chapter in Ashlee's evolution as an artist and songwriter. I Am Me delivered standout singles 'Boyfriend' and 'L.O.V.E.,' both reaching the Top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified Platinum by the RIAA." Released October 18, 2005 on Geffen and recorded between May and August 2005, the album was produced in full by John Shanks and went on to sell 900,000 copies in the United States. The two bonus tracks on this edition carry real history: "Invisible" was originally intended for a mid-2006 re-release of I Am Me that was ultimately cancelled, with the song later surfacing only as an international bonus track on Simpson's following album. Twenty years on, this vinyl edition finally restores it to the record it was written for.

⭐ Product Highlights

Officially signed through Interscope Records — the signed LP is a distinct SKU from the standard gold and black split pressing, sold directly by the label rather than obtained through a third party, which puts the provenance beyond question
First time ever on vinyl — I Am Me has existed only on CD and digital for twenty years despite debuting at number one and selling 900,000 copies in the United States; this 20th anniversary pressing is the first vinyl edition of the album in any territory, which makes it a genuine first rather than another repress
Custom Gold and Black Split vinyl — a hard split rather than a blend, with each half of the disc a distinct colour; split pressings require the two compounds to be laid separately in the press, and the boundary falls slightly differently on every copy
Two bonus tracks exclusive to this version — including "Invisible," which was slated for a mid-2006 re-release of I Am Me that was cancelled outright, leaving the song stranded as an international bonus track on the following album; this edition returns it to the record it was made for, twenty years late
Produced start to finish by John Shanks — who also produced Simpson's triple-platinum debut Autobiography, and whose credits run through Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Michelle Branch and Take That; the continuity between the two albums is entirely down to him
A number one debut and RIAA Platinum certification — "Boyfriend" reached number eight in Australia and was certified Gold by ARIA, while "L.O.V.E." hit number five there and number twenty-two in the US; I Am Me arrived just fifteen months after Autobiography and became the record that proved the first was not an accident
