Superb original 35mm colour slide showing the distinctive #44 Group 44 Jaguar XJR-7 in action during the 1988 SunBank 24 Hours of Daytona.
The privately entered Jaguar, chassis XJR-7/001, was driven by Bob Tullius, Whitney Ganz and Hurley Haywood. Powered by Jaguar's 6.5-litre V12 and running in the IMSA GTP category, it qualified 13th before retiring from the race after 122 laps.
The car is particularly interesting historically because this was the final competition appearance of the XJR-7, with Bob Tullius retiring the car after the 1988 Daytona 24 Hours. The race also marked the transition between the American Group 44 Jaguar programme and the newer TWR XJR-9 era.
