- Lower Impedance Voice Coil: The core difference is the voice coil winding. It uses a lower electrical resistance (2 ohms nominal). This allows more electrical current to flow from your amplifier, maximizing the amplifier's output efficiency.
- Mica-Filled Polypropylene Cone: The speaker cone is made from plastic mixed with a mineral called mica. This makes the cone incredibly stiff so it does not bend out of shape during loud, deep bass notes, keeping the sound perfectly clear.
- No Back Magnet Vent (Zero Pole-Vent): Standard subwoofers have a hole in the very back of the magnet to let air out. This speaker does not need one. It pushes air out through the sides of the frame instead. Because of this, you can push the back of the subwoofer right up against the wood wall of your speaker box to save space.
- Elevated Frame Cooling: This patented design uses special slots built into the metal frame right above the motor structure. As the speaker moves up and down, it acts like a pump. It forces fresh air directly onto the voice coil to keep it cool and prevent the speaker from burning out.
