AnyBurn is a small Windows program from Power Software Ltd that covers the jobs which usually need three or four separate tools: burning data discs, Audio CDs and MP3 CDs, creating and editing image files, copying one disc to another, and writing bootable USB drives, including GPT and UEFI drives. It stays around 13 MB installed and opens in a moment, which is the whole point of it. This pack carries every build the publisher makes, and the Read Me names the file to use.

How is this item delivered?
This is a physical item (USB drive or DVD) that will be shipped to you. Choose your format when you order.
Which file should I use?
For almost everyone it is anyburn_setup.exe: one installer that covers 64-bit and 32-bit Windows. On a machine with an ARM processor, use anyburn_setup_arm64.exe. To run it with nothing installed, extract anyburn.zip and start AnyBurn.exe from the folder that matches the computer.
Does this work on a Mac or on Linux?
No. AnyBurn is a Windows program, and the publisher makes no Mac or Linux build of it. It runs on Windows 11, 10, 8 and 8.1, 7, Vista, XP and 2000, and on Windows Server systems of the same eras.
Do I have to install it?
No. The portable build in anyburn.zip runs from a folder, or from a USB stick, with nothing installed and no Start menu entry. It can also be used on a machine where you do not have administrator rights.
Do I need an internet connection to use it?
No. Everything works offline. The program can check the publisher's server for a newer version when a connection is available, and the publisher states that no personal information is sent.
Is a manual included?
Documentation lives on the publisher's website: every task is documented as a short illustrated page, and the Read Me lists the ones people ask for most, from burning an image file to creating a bootable USB drive.
What is the difference between the edition in this pack and AnyBurn Pro?
Every task on this page is in the edition supplied here, apart from two that belong to the publisher's separate AnyBurn Pro edition: installing Windows onto a USB drive, and converting audio files between formats.
Will it copy a protected movie disc?
No. Discs that carry copy protection or encryption cannot be copied with a program of this kind, and that is true of every burn tool in the open source world. Everything else on a recordable disc is plain data, and that is what these tools are for.
Does this software need a product key or activation?
No. AnyBurn is published by Power Software Ltd for use at home and in the workplace, so there is no product key, no activation step, no registration and no account.
Windows asked for permission when I ran the installer. Is that expected?
Yes, as with any installer that changes your system. Windows shows the publisher name, Power Software Ltd, when it asks for permission.
Do I need to copy the pack to my computer first?
For DVD orders, copy the pack folder to your computer (for example, your Desktop) first, then run the installer from there. DVDs have much slower read speeds than USB drives, and an install run directly from the disc will be slow.
