For sale is a Rare Vintage 1971 Civil Service Motoring Association Mercury Rally Navigator Trophy.

This is a silver plated trophy/ cup that’s engraved “C.S.M.A Salop, Mercury Rally 71, best C.S.M.A Navigator I.Creed.” Salop meaning the Shropshire branch of the Civil Service Motoring Association.

This cup is in mostly good condition (slightly misshaped) and has minimal wear to the silver plating. The trophy measures 8.5cm Diameter x 12cm height.

In British road rallying during 1971, the "Best Navigator" award (often called the Navigators Cup or Premier Navigator) was not just a class prize. It meant that I. Creed was the absolute overall co-winner of the entire rally. In night road rallies of that era, the navigator was arguably more important than the driver.
