For sale is a unique Barbie (further detailed below) from the estate of a fascinating local Black Barbie collector and designer who amassed 500+ Barbies, most of which I will be listing. As an artisan and stylist, she took great joy in customizing most of her Barbies with some combination of rings, earrings and an extraordinary variety of hair styles. NOTE: Check the photos and my notes below closely, because with most of her creations, the Barbie body and the displayed outfit were NOT originally paired together. She simply made unique African American doll and dress combinations she loved. As such, I’m unable to identify the specific body, but I provide marking or feature notes that may help you a bit. I am not expert enough to tell whether the body and head are a hybrid. While I attempt a description or identification of the outfit, you will be the best ones to make that determination, based on your expertise. These dolls do not have any odors of smoke or perfume; they are essentially neutral. The outfit may not have all of its original accessories; you are getting exactly what is pictured. I try to note where a doll or outfit has a stain, mark, or defect, but I know I miss things, so please check the photos closely, and I welcome additional questions. Outfit: 1980 Barbie Designer Originals Golden Accent-jumpsuit, jacket, purse

Head: Dated 1990, earrings

Torso: 1966 China; Twists at hips

Legs: rigid straight (appears to be a ballerina body with painted ballet shoes 

Arms: rigid straight, articulate at shoulder
